6th Asia Bike Trade Show: new schedule from September 13 to 15 - three-day indoor Demo Days -2nd Asia Bike Industry Summit and 1st Asia Bike Academy
Nanjing/Friedrichshafen - As the ‘little sister ’ of Eurobike in China, Asia Bike will bring the unique atmosphere of the globally leading trade fair from September 13 to 15, 2016 to Nanjing, China. "The annual gathering of the entire bike industry in Nanjing brings together brands, dealers, bike shops and cycling fans for a series of product presentations featuring innovations and the 2017 product lines”, illustrates Stefan Reisinger, head of Eurobike/OutDoor. The trade show offers the opportunity to recruit partners and distributers, test bikes, and create new business links within and outside the bike industry.
The three-day Asia Bike 2016 will occupy three halls at Nanjing International Expo Centre and a total of about 40 000 m2. Two halls will be used for brand displays and one for the Demo Area. Richard Li, project director of Asia Bike explains the new concept: "This year, the biggest and the most important change for Asia Bike is the change from one pre-show test day towards a fully integrated test event over 3 days right next to the exhibition halls. This change will turn Asia Bike 2016 into a festival for the bike industry in China.” As an additional new feature, the Demo Days will also be located indoors, in Hall 7 of Nanjing International Expo Centre. This one stop - one shop concept makes it easy to attend both the exhibtion and the test area at the same time and place, independent of weather conditions. Professional test tracks built to simulate a range of surfaces, including dirt, wood and stones, will also feature slopes to provide a range of test surfaces for MTBs, race bikes and pedelecs for riders with different abilities. Up to now, over 40 bicycle and accessory brands have registered for the Demo Days and will present and provide their new collections for testing. Yet bike testing is not all: Demo Days offers a display of interactive activities, including various Bike Trainer Challenges, a bike fitting session and a Youth Cycling Challenge.
Trends and hot topics
Summits and forums are always a good venue for a meeting of minds, gathering together industry professionals, media representatives and opinion leaders from both within and outside of the bike industry. Asia Bike 2016 is not only organizing the second edition of the Asia Bike Industry Summit but also the first Asia Bike Academy. The Chinese Sports Bicycle Market Report will be released during the show as well. The second Asia Bike Industry Summit will cover topics such as event IP, sports service and product trends. The Asia Bike Academy on September 13 and 14 allows brands, bike dealers and cycling fans to share tips, techniques and experiences. Asia Bike aims at integrating resources through the Asia Bike Academy and therefore provides a platform for exchanging new techniques between technicians and bike shops. Featured speakers include representatives from companies such as 3T, Cannondale, and Sram.
Asia Bike focus areas
The 2016 edition of the bike trade show not only welcomes people from the bike industry but also from the traditional sports and travel industries. The Individual Design Area in Hall 8 is a good example for bike crossover as it not only covers bikes but also features art, innovation and intelligence and attracts attention from within and outside the bike industry. Art enthusiast, urban rider, geek, or sports fanatic - all are welcome to contribute to this melting pot of innovation and design. A further attraction in Hall 8 will be the Triathlon Village and the Bike Travel & Club Village, which provide a ‘face’ for the ever-growing segment of triathlon and bike travel in China. As bike travel is becoming popular in China, many bike travel agencies, clubs and even bike shops are popping up to organize bike travelling events, both domestically and internationally. To reflect and follow this trend, the Bike Travel & Club Village of Asia Bike is offering opportunities for brands, bike stores, clubs, event organizers and distributors to cooperate and a venue for cycling clubs and bike travel agencies to display their cycling routes, cycling services and ideas. A third focus area is the Event Village in Hall 9, which is set up separately to promote cycling both as a sport and a culture through workshops and presentations by event companies.
The 6th Asia Bike Trade Show and the 4th Demo Days will take place from September 13 to 15. The first two days will be open to trade visitors only. The last day, which coincides with the Chinese traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, will be open to the general public, giving cycling fans an opportunity to visit the show.
