The second edition of the Plastics Recycling Show Middle East & Africa in Dubai has built on the success of last year’s first edition to firmly establish the event as the region’s stand-out event for all those engaged in the circular and sustainable use of plastics. The recent three-day exhibition and conference attracted 124 exhibitors, over 50 eminent speakers and more than 3,700 attendees.
The exhibition was inaugurated by His Excellency Butti Saeed Al Ghandi, Vice-Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre; Mr. Kinana Jamaluddin, Representative of Sultan Al Bohra, Syedna Muffadal Saifuddin; Mr. Taher Patrawala, Managing Director, Media Fusion; Mr. Matthew Barber, Director, Global Trade Shows & Sales Director, Crain Global Polymer Group; Mr. Sunu Nair, General Manager, Media Fusion; and other dignitaries.
“The GCC region is already on the fast track when it comes to sustainability. The UAE alone is working aggressively on its waste management practices and solutions, and plastics recycling is a significant part of its Net Zero Strategy 2050,” says Taher Patrawala, Managing Director, Media Fusion. “The continued overwhelming response to the Plastics Recycling Show Middle East and Africa showcases how well received the event is since its first edition last year. We had top visitors come in from across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. With our Dubai show established firmly and constantly working towards the region’s sustainability goals, we are looking forward to continuing to work with Crain Communications at our first PRS Show in India in Mumbai, this December,” he adds.
“PRS Middle East & Africa has really come of age this year, attracting representatives from every part of the region involved in the circular and sustainable use of plastics,” says Matt Barber, Global Events Director at Crain Communications. “The next event in the fast-expanding global PRS event portfolio will be PRS Asia in Singapore from 13-14 November and we look forward to repeating this success there and then again in Mumbai in December.”
Speaking at the show, Akhil Malhotra, Chairman & Managing Director of Rudra Ecovation said. “PRS is a great platform. Customers from all over the world have visited our stall and shown interest. A few deals have even matured. We will definitely participate next year with more advanced products.”
Robert El Khoury, Chairman & General Manager, Roky Plast said: “Our products are top quality and our vision is to sell everywhere in the world. We had a great experience at the expo. We met many new customers.”
Bariq’s Senior Commercial Specialist Abdelrahman Elghazy added: “We are the first and biggest in the MENA region to recycle PET. Part of being the biggest one in the MENA region is to show our presence each and every year at PRS.” Vivek Begwani, Commercial Manager at Gemini Corporation of Belgium said: “In 2024, I must say that there has been more footfall than before. We are able to meet more and more suppliers and stakeholders at one place, which is great. It is interesting to see what innovations are going on in the industry. Next year, we are even planning to have a booth of our own.”
“This year we could see a wide range of suppliers from different parts of the world. Events like these help us meet all our suppliers at one place. We don’t have to travel to different places,” added Govind Anil, Chief Accounting Officer of Saraha Technologies in Dubai.
The Plastics Recycling Show Middle East & Africa brings together key players from the plastics and plastics recycling sectors to showcase innovative technology, share best practices, network and do business. Every part of the circular plastics value chain is represented at the event including plastics recycling machinery and equipment suppliers, sorting technology, plastic material suppliers and compounders, packaging specialists, pre-processors, mechanical and chemical plastics recyclers, bio-polymer manufacturers, EPR consultants, waste management specialists and industry associations.
Plastics Recycling Show Middle East & Africa returns to Dubai from 15 – 17 September 2025.
