The CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board (Chairman: Masaki Sakuyama) has announced the successful conclusion today, Oct. 19th, of CEATEC JAPAN 2018, which was held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama, Chiba) from Tuesday, Oct. 16th. 725 companies and organizations exhibited at the event, of which 345 were first-time participants, and the total number of registered visitors was 156,063 (an increase of 3,977 or 2.6% above last year). Over the four-day period, the event was crowded with visitors from a wide variety of industries and businesses. The average of 39,016 visitors per day represents the fifth largest attendance in CEATEC JAPAN history (note: CEATEC JAPAN’s highest ever daily average was 41,171 registered visitors, recorded in 2007, when the five-day event attracted a record total of 205,859 visitors).
The theme for CEATEC JAPAN 2018, which is a global showcase for Japan’s growth strategies and vision of the future known as Society 5.0, was “Connecting Society, Co-Creating the Future”. Overcoming existing barriers by effectively integrating policies, industries and technologies, this CPS/IoT exhibition has earned well-deserved recognition moving toward its upcoming 20th anniversary as the ultimate forum for the co-creation of ultra-smart communities of the future where IoT, robots and AI will all play important roles. Next year, in celebrating its 20th anniversary, CEATEC JAPAN will strive to increase participation by an even larger number of industries and businesses to help accelerate the pace of innovation for shaping future societies and make “Connecting Society, Co-Creating the Future” a reality. CEATEC JAPAN 2019 will be held at Makuhari Messe for four days: Tuesday Oct. 15th to Friday Oct. 18th.
