Jan 28, 2013

Many brands in China such as Huawei and ZTE plan to introduce quad-core smartphones that adopt MediaTek's MT6589 or Qualcomm's MSM8x25Q solutions before the Lunar New Year holidays with retail prices around CNY1,000-1,500/unit (US$160-241/unit). China-based makers believe the price fall for quad-core smartphones will be rapid in 2013, and soon prices will fall under CNY1,000/unit. China-based makers believe by the end of 2013, there will be quad-core smartphones with retail prices of US$100/unit.
